ROMY KOWALEWSKI SHARES HER BARCELONA SECRETS

Passionate re-inventor and 2787 Perfumes founder Romy Kowalewski shares her insider secrets of Barcelona

Where should we stay?
My little secret romantic getaway is Hotel Neri in the heart of the Gothic Area but if you’re looking for something a little more vibrant the Hotel W with its spectacular views of the Mediterranean is where you’ll will want to be

Where’s the best place to get a cocktail or two?
Boca Chica

How about the buzziest restaurant table?
For some of the finest Mediterranean Cuisine surrounded by a hip crowd, funky music and a beach view, head to Bestial

Where to go for best Esqueixada?
La Barceloneta in the old fishermen’s district

What’s the one shop you couldn’t be without?
De la Crème, the best handmade ice-cream in Barcelona

Where can we find the coolest local artists work?
Head to the Galeria Senda for some local contemporary work by some of Barcelona’s hippest artists such as Yago Hortal

Is a hip label on the streets right now?
Check out Berta Cabestany or Vagary Kalon for some very unique designs

Your perfect Barcelona day?
I’d start with a workout session at the Metropolitan Gym Iradier in the beautiful Sarrià neighbourhood. Then I’d head down to Raval to enjoy a fresh smoothie and healthy brunch at Flex & Kale. From there I love to get lost in the small streets of the historic centre of Gótico and Born, do some shopping in the local shops and finish off the day with friends enjoying dinner and the sunset by the beach

Best trip out of town?
The beautiful Costa Brava. Escape the city and enjoy some fresh seafood and drinks. A must see is the beautiful little town called Cadaqués, where Dali found his inspiration for many of his works

Don’t leave without seeing?
The beautiful Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila, Park Güell and of course the Beach

Something we must take home?
One of our perfumes handcrafted in Barcelona. Well why wouldn’t you?

Next month we travel to Hamburg to explore the Christmas Markets with LINARI founder Rainer Diersche
